Gin Barrel Aged Coffee
The craft of barrel-aging requires careful precision and patience. The experts at Batch 206 Distillery have mastered the craft of aging gin and accepted the challenge of creating a barrel-aged coffee with Caffe Vita. Using vintage Hungarian oak barrels of Counter ‘Old Tom’ Gin, our South American coffee is aged along with spent botanicals from the distillation process (juniper, citrus peels, verbena, cucumber and lavender) for around 4-6 months. Then, the coffee is removed, carefully roasted, and set back in the barrels. The result of this double barrel-aging is something worth the wait—a full-flavored cup with notes of florals, citrus, residual oak, and a lingering spicy finish.
